$BYTHOS

$BYTHOS is not launched. No contract address. Supply, launch and flows.

$BYTHOS is the protocol token. It has one use inside Bythos, opening Markets, and it receives a share of protocol revenue through buyback-and-burn.

Status

$BYTHOS is not launched. No contract address.

It is planned to launch on Clover at Elysium mainnet, Nov 9, 2026. Until then there is no $BYTHOS token. Any token presented as $BYTHOS before the Clover launch did not come from this protocol.

What it is used for

Opening Markets

Market creation is permissionless. To open a Market for a token, a creator locks 100,000 $BYTHOS for 90 days. The lock is returned after the 90 days through release(market). One Market per token. On mainnet, the token's LP must also be locked in Horkos during Phase 0. See Markets.

The lock is not a fee. The full 100,000 $BYTHOS comes back to the creator once the 90 days have passed. On testnet the same lock is made in tBYTHOS.

Revenue flows

The protocol share has two sources:

  • 10% of all interest paid by borrowers
  • the 2% protocol share of every Trawl penalty

At mainnet, the protocol share is documented to split:

DestinationShareAsset
TWAP buyback-and-burn of $BYTHOS50%bought with HYPE, then burned
Abyss Reserve of the Market50%HYPE

The Abyss Reserve half stays in HYPE. The reserve never holds $BYTHOS. See Abyss Reserve.

On testnet

The mainnet flows above are documented, not implemented on testnet. Testnet works like this instead:

  • Market creators lock tBYTHOS, a mock token with no value, claimed from its faucet: 1,000,000 tBYTHOS per address, once.
  • The protocol share is split half to the Market's Abyss Reserve and half to the Treasury contract.
  • The Treasury holds its half. There are no buybacks, because no $BYTHOS exists.

At mainnet, the Treasury funds the TWAP buyback-and-burn.

What it is not

There is no staking, no governance, no APY promise.

$BYTHOS does not set Market parameters. Limits come from Depth Value, not from a vote, and every Market uses the same parameters. Holding $BYTHOS does not earn yield, and it does not give a claim on any Market's HYPE.
